Hello! We are Carl and Kristen, and we’re from Elkhart, Indiana. Although we have known each other since early childhood and grew up in the same community, we didn’t start dating until we were older. We were married in 2014, and now have two children; Elijah and Ellie. We have also become foster parents since moving to Jamaica, and it has been a joy to add another brother and sister to our family! We enjoy spending time together, repurposing things, and working with landscaping and plants. Kristen loves to create things, and Carl enjoys grilling and smoking meats. Games and outdoor activities like visiting the beach, swimming, and camping are favorites for our family. We are passionate about helping people as we follow God’s leading in our lives!

In 2020, we thought we were right where we needed to be, and planned to stay there for a long while… but God had other plans for us! When we were asked to work with JRM, we knew it was what He wanted us to do, but some things needed to happen first. Selling our house in the middle of a pandemic looked impossible, but with God all things are possible, and it sold within three days! We moved to Jamaica to take on the role of Outreach Manager, and in July of 2021, we transitioned to Field Director.

Since moving here, we’ve had so many good times, and some difficult ones. We’ve come to love the people, culture, traditions, and foods of Jamaica, and have made some very dear friends and memories that we’ll forever be thankful for!
