My name is Duane, I am the oldest in my family of four.
We got married in 1988 and enjoyed raising our four children; a daughter and three sons.
We enjoy camping, swimming, and playing baseball. We also enjoyed singing together as a family, and have recorded two children’s albums.

In 2002, just when we were ready to build our “dream home” in the country, God called us very specifically, and changed the course of our lives through an amazing series of events.
We responded to His call, nixed our plans to build, and began the task of transitioning into a foreign country.
We moved to Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2003, where we served as house parents for 3½ years.
Those years will forever be etched in our minds as some of the most challenging and yet fulfilling years of our lives.
The people of Jamaica have become some of our dearest friends
and we feel so blessed to be able to be a part of Jamaica Relief Ministries
and serve alongside a team of board members who are committed to changing the lives of young children,
and many others who have become a part of the JRM family.

In recent years our lives have changed a bit as we transitioned into becoming “empty nesters”.
We celebrated this season by embarking on a new adventure.
In September of 2017, Verba and I moved 2 hours north to Lake Odessa, MI, where I serve as assistant director at Haven of Hope Ministries.

We have the privilege of sitting with couples and leading them to Jesus, the only One who can heal their pain and bring freedom to their hearts.
It is a great blessing to see our adult children serving the Lord in the areas He has called them.
We have also had the amazing experience of becoming grandparents to a sweet little princess who completes our world.
We are looking forward to the future the Father has planned for us!
