Duane and Verba Cross have served with Jamaica Relief Ministries since 2003, offering seasoned leadership and a deep passion for seeing lives transformed through the love of Jesus Christ.

Married in 1988, they began their journey in northern Indiana, rooted in faith, family, and community. Just as they prepared to build their dream home, God redirected their path with a clear call to Jamaica. Answering that call, they became JRM’s first field directors – a step of faith that began one of the most meaningful seasons of their lives.

Since then, Duane and Verba have served in a variety of roles within the ministry, ultimately stepping into their current position as Executive Directors. Their leadership is defined by humility, collaboration, and a commitment to strengthening relationships among local communities, churches, and ministry partners.

Outside of ministry, they cherish time with their four married children and growing number of grandchildren. They divide their time between Jamaica and South Carolina and enjoy hiking, early morning walks up Bogue Hill, and listening to leadership and personal growth podcasts.

Whether mentoring young leaders, speaking to groups, or engaging in everyday conversations, Duane and Verba continue to live out the message central to their calling: there is always hope, and Jesus is faithful to complete the good work He begins.
